Awhile back, prior to the 2011 SEBAC Agreement being voted on, SEBAC began to delete posts from union members on the union members own website that did anything other than fully support the union leaders own greed based, arrrogant opinions of the 2011 agreement. Forward 8 weeks and they’re at it again! Comments can no longer be posted on the SEBAC website (for awhile at this point), and now they are censoring the Facebook page and controlling the information flow to members under the guise of protecting members from “inapropriate” comments ! Only the “committee” members will be able to start new threads and will be deleting posts that they find do not
support their dark agenda.
Here’s the link to the article:
…and the article as presented from the SEBAC website
(should it “disappear”!)
by Matt O’Connor on July 22nd
“The InThisTogetherCT Facebook page was created to be a social networking source of information and help for members of the unions in the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC). The page was launched at the height of the economic crisis so leaders and staff had another tool to assist members in navigating the tough issues and tough choices we face.
But efforts to make the FB page work have been overwhelmed during the effort to reach an agreement that saves state workers’ jobs, their collective bargaining rights, and the services they deliver. The large volume of content from a relatively small group of understandably angry and frustrated folks that want to see an end to the current mess has diminished the page’s effectiveness. It is no longer able to offer information to a much larger group of state workers who want and need answers to the questions they want and deserve answers to.
Beginning today we will recapture the original intent of the Facebook page and make it a source of information for union leaders’ discussions and details of any agreement that may be reached.
Members of the coalition’s communications committee will post information and seek questions from union members, all of which will be more closely monitored. Inappropriate, disparaging, and offensive comments will no longer be tolerated and will be deleted by the committee on a regular basis beginning today.
Additionally, new “threads” will be limited to designated Facebook page administrators, and previously posted threads — as well as the comments associated with them — will no longer be visible.
Some of the folks who have enjoyed the openness of the dialogue on the Facebook page will likely be disappointed by the revised policy. We also know many union members who will be pleased they can more effectively and efficiently find accurate and respectful information during this very critical time.
Those who would like to actively participate in our informational and educational efforts are invited to join the coalition’s team of member messengers. Those interested in helping to facilitate the Facebook page as an administrator are invited to offer their volunteer services to the committee.
Contact your union’s elected or staff representatives to submit your name to the committee.
Thanks to all for the lively opinions and creative composition posted at the Facebook page in the last few weeks.”

The Clever Manipulation of Projection and Paranoia
(for those who don’t know…the political left is “traditionally” considered to be the democrats and the political right is considered to be the republicans)
quoted from the above linked article:
“The clever manipulation of projection and paranoia–of finding a necessary (and imagined) enemy– is all in a days work for the leaders of the political left.”
“It is inconceivable to paranoid persons that people actually exist who view the situation differently from them. It is inconceivable that they could be wrong about their perception of reality. Con men always think others are out to con them. In fact, most paranoids consider themselves the ONLY reality-based community, because they get to define what reality is and it is always what they happen to feel. And it is always about making sure they feel good and virtuous and self-righteous.
Paranoia and projection also provide a rationale and justification (to the paranoid, at least) for acting out against those who–from their perspective– stand in the way of implementing their social programs; or will not submit to the will of their god (whoever and whatever it may be).”

The health plan part of the 2011 SEBAC Agreement was planned long before union “talks” began. This is not a new concept, just new to most of us!
…See the below links
This is a very long report but well worth a scan (on page 49 you’ll find a letter regarding Healthcare System Change by Executive director of CSEA SEIU Bob Rinker). See how much went on “when you weren’t looking” …read through it it…and you will no longer wonder why the media fills our heads with reality shows ,talk shows, and junk news. This is going on nationwide..”for better, or worse”
Anyone in tier 2 needs to say ABSOLUTELY NO to this agreement. Forget paying 3% begining in 2 years ! They are going to at minimum raise the age in 2022, and in order to have the deal in this agreement you will have to “buy back” 3 years, but will have to start doing so by 2013. wtf! So now it’s 3% plus( retiree health benies…plus an amount to be determined to buy into your retirement age… unless you want to work until at least 63!?
from the agreement
4.” Current employees who retire after July 1, 2022 – The following changes do not
apply to individuals who retire under the Hazardous duty provisions of the plan.
Normal Retirement eligibility increases from Age 60 and 25 Years of Benefit Service
or Age 62 and 10 Years of Benefit Service to Age 63 and 25 Years of Benefit Service
or Age 65 and 10 Years of Benefit Service. This change affects all years of benefit
service earned on or after July 1, 2011. By July 1, 2013, current employees may
make a one-time irrevocable election to begin paying the actuarial pension cost of
maintaining the normal retirement eligibility that exists in the present plan which is
scheduled to change effective July 1, 2022. The cost shall be established by the
Plan’s actuaries and shall be communicated to employees by the Retirement
Division. Such election shall be made on a form acceptable to the Retirement
Commission and shall indicate the employee’s election to participate or not to
participate. In the event the employee fails to make an election, he/she shall not be
eligible to participate. In the event the employee makes a successful claim to the
Retirement Commission of agency error, the employee shall make payments in
accordance with usual practice.
5. Tier II, MA and Tier III Breakpoint – The parties will meet and discuss a modification
to the Breakpoint that will be effective for service earned on and after July 1, 2013.
The revised breakpoint will be designed so that the pension amount for individuals
earning under the current breakpoint will be increased. The cost of such change in
Breakpoint shall not increase the Employer Normal Cost more than .5% of payroll in
any year. The formula change and costs shall be provided by the Plan’s Actuaries. In
the event the parties are unable to agree on the revised Breakpoint, the matter shall
be referred to the arbitrator appointed under the terms of the Pension Agreement
and governed by the provisions of CGS sec. 5-278a and the terms of this agreement”.

New State of Ct. Motto…Keeping you healthy, so you can work longer!
I will still be voting NO! Tier 2 Pensions are essentially gutted!
here’s a link to the 2011 Tentative agreement from the inthistogetherct.org website….as typical they wait until the late Friday before a holiday weekend!
By the way the “health plan” was set up before “talks” began http://www.cga.ct.gov/2011/JFR/H/2011HB-06308-R00INS-JFR.htm

If the proposed health insurance “plan” is run like the SEBAC talks, Agreement formation , and lack of transparency …..it might look and sound, and result in something like this:
“You’ll take your medicine as we prescribe, under our watchful management…we think it’s the best treatment for you….trust us …only we know what’s best for you.
If you don’t comply,
the consequences will be “unimaginable” ( Dan Malloy’s word)
What happened to collective bargaining?
State employees….”see the forest for the trees” here. While “the devil is usually in the details”, this time it’s the “elephant in the living room” !
